now now now, this sounds like a negativating comment.
Maybe you got urine evacuation problems but some of us really got their panties wet.
+ you didn't even know how to change the screen luminosity, so I think you didn't play enough with boom to give us an objective opinion.

Will ..... while at it, I mean, while at all those codings and makis, could you add a lil to the PL/ML?

I mean would it be possible to have the PL list the songs in different columns taking info from the tag. Like extract the data from tags into different columns much like what the ML does and then have the header of each column active so that clicking on Artist (for eg.) would call up the code for sorting by artist and therby sort in that order. Likewise for album, title, etc. Where no tag data is available, maybe the file name could be used.

Dont know how feasible it is, but with the boom booming, might as well add to it!

What Will meant, is that a feature in boom (wich the other skins you mentioned don't have) bugs in the current RC's and there's nothing he can do about it.

The current version of boom never crashed on my computers though...

that exception bug seems to occur on complex skins, such as boom and spider, not all the time though, which is strange, most likely a bug, or typo in teh code

back to topic, I'm still waiting for will, we have added a cool feature that will allow win9x users and slow computers to have antialiased edges without the alpha desktop !

man .......!!!!!!!

i dont like ateens especialy much, they just happen to be the first in my playlist with all my songs.... but fortunantly i like allmost every sort of music with the exception of Opera and Death Metal, hell..... even like Vivaldi and Mozart

Some pop music makes me come in a good mood, a'teens are happy pop
music, and i can appriciate that... i even listen to backstreet boys
once in a while .....I also like Rammstein (which is hard
(Industrial) Kraftwerk (old skool techno) Wu Tang Clan (Hip Hop)
Astral Projektion (electronic). I go to underground jungle raves in
Copenhagen, and i just spend a month listening to Israeli Trance at
the beaches of Koh Pha-ngan

so stop bugging me, I have more sense of music than you will ever
get..... deal with it!!!!!!

Now let's concentrate on the skin. instead of my taste of music -
shall we

lol man, awwww.. i just heard the songs, uhm song

[sarcasm]anyways lets stop talking about ertmann's bad sense of music and get back to the topic [/sarcasm]

the display is kinda weird in the latest betas, i mean, its too bright and you can barely see anything, how do i change it back?

and some bug, when you are listening to a song, and then you switch to Boom, the song keeps going but the "spectrum analyzer" isnt working.
maybe stop all playing songs when switching to the skin, or just fix this issue. (stopping all songs on the skin's load isnt a good idea, since what if i launch winamp with a command line and want it to play a specific song, won't the skin stop the playback on load?)

you can control it on the buttons just left of the display, there is
a little knop in the middle where you toggle between volume, base, treble and light

Hey, patience my friend, we already got an rc, but still need to fix some bugs so we decided not release it yet.
for now you can have a look at this baby, that's the new boom control panel with some really cool options.

I took this screenshot using the fake desktop alpha!! yup yup, even win9x users will have a smooth looking boom and it's not a cpu killing machine

Amazing all credit goes to willfisher for coding this, I just gave him the ideas and some instructions for the options

Hmm, this fake desktop alpha sounds mighty interesting...

If this is the real thing, then I think you and Willfisher should release the script for it now(or with BOOM's release) so future(and updated) skins could take advantege of this and make those Win 9x users happy(and their skins more compatible).

Cool stuff.

some things to fix before you release the baby

1) check att. (/me wonders why it's ok on the ss)

2) the contrast between the text and the bg when things are selected in the ML are to small..... why not use the same color scheme as the playlist?

Yep. I found a cunning workaround for the bug with text.getText() that corrupts the first few letters, so now the songinfo script works good

(the workaround is to call this:
songinfo.setText("-");
songinfo.setText("");
then what happens is this is called
songinfo.onTextChange(string newtxt) {
if(newtxt == "-"} return;
// insert songinfo decoding shizz
}

and newtxt is uncorrupted, with the correct songinfo!)

Anyways, i have 1 or 2 bugs to squash first, but the final will be there very soon indeed.

The win9x Fake Desktop Alpha is brilliant, yet simple. Nice job. My only suggestion is that you pop a few sliding bars (like BlobAMP)for people who have no clue what RGB is.

How did you get the fake desktop alpha to work? The Nullsoft crew seemed to think it was impossible a while back so I'm extremely curious.

I'm guess he just alpha blends the edges with a solid color which is specify in config...this will work if the desktop has a consistent color...like all blue shades in his ss...might not work as good if the desktop has a lot of colors or it is on top of other windows...well...that's my guess...anyway...

So, does the Boom team think that Friday is an auspicious day for its release just like Team Nullsoft do???

If its not out in the next 7 hours I'll have to wait until Saturday. Ok! so, I've been patient this long and have not asked for a beta to date ..... but patience seems to be wearing out and its hurting!

Cheerios!
