Accessing Winamp Remote

I have accessed my music on my home system from work via Winamp Remote. Is there any way to connect to WR from media players on a linux system?

there might have been (am sure there was something about being able to access things on consoles so would have though linux would have appeared somewhere) but i really don't know. all i do know is that Winamp Remote is a dead / unsupported product and one which very few people know much about anymore.
