Perfect sound...but no picture!

When I try and watch video files, I get perfect sound but no picture. I either get visualisations or the Nullsoft Video Logo.

If someone here could tell me how to remedy this problem, I'd be most grateful.

Peace.

Did you see this?

Sticky:No pictures when playing Videos / Internet TV

If none of the suggestions in that thread help, then post again with some additional info (what files, codecs, system specs etc.).

Yeah I saw it and followed the instructions but no avail. Here are my system specs. They are somewhat primitive, so please don't laugh.

Ops System: Windows XP Professional
System Manufacturer: HIGRADED
Model: L8400 C Series Notebook PC
Bios: PhoenixBIOS 4.0 released 6.0
Processor: Intel Pentium 3 1.0 GHZ
DirectX: Direct X 9.0b

Peace

What video files are you trying to play?

Did you try GSpot to find out which codec(s) you need?

I am trying to play an AVI file. According to Gspot I need an Xvid codec. However, I do not know how to install it. My attempt to fail an Divx player failed because my computer doesn't like it.

Peace
