Ok, I am new to all this. Little help?

Ok, so I have a server that I can stream too, but I have no idea what to do with the ziped folder that downloads full of "tools". The Readme file on the new 2.0 beta has no info on how to install, and the 1.9.8 only has windows and Linux instructions. No Mac.

Im running OSX 10.6.5

All I have downloaded is the tools.

you need to extract the files from the archive into a folder and then following the docs/getting_started.txt guide though there is a newer work in progress version available at http://nunzioweb.com/daz/SHOUTcast/docs.html (until i get it up onto the main wiki) which should be a bit more detailed. however if you're not used to using the console then you need to read up on using that before trying to run the SHOUTcast tools.

also the linux instructions are the same for the Mac (any Mac specific differences are indicated in the sections linked to from the getting_started.txt file as applicable).

so all you really need then is just a source i would have said but a bit more information on this 'server' would help to clarify things (hence my generic response).

I have done everything that I can up until this point:

Quote:
3.0.6 Step 6
--------------

Note: Skip this step if you are not setting up the Server configuration

Getting the Server started you first need to open up the sc_serv_basic.conf example file
in the root of the install location. Work through the file's contents and then fill in or
change any of the values required for how you want to use the server.
I dont know how to open this file. And the server I have is located here:
http://s10.myradiostream.com/
But I really dont know much about any of this.

Thanks for the help.
