Suggest a Bank

I'm getting tired of Key bank. Take a look at these interest rates: https://onlinea.key.com/web1/uap/Svl...S&sqkl=GRFH182

What do you guys use? I'm thinking of switching to Citibank.

For checking I use Washington Mutual for convenience. Their interest rates are not very good so I have online savings accounts such as HSBC and ING which pay 5.05% and 4.50% respectively.

Thanks. I might open an account with HSBC (M&I gives shit rates, even for CDs).

Anyone ever use Citibank?

An account that only exists online seems strange to me. As much as I love technology, I do think that banks should have brick and mortar counterparts.

I have used Citibank.

Hated them. Charged for dumb things too.... like having to go in to see a teller...

I use a local bank, so I can't help you there.

Don't go to Bank of America though. I hear nothing but horrible horrible things about them.

Credit unions for the win.

Free $1000 life insurance policy.

Higer interest rates than banks.

No fees for online banking, checking, etc.

Low minimum balances.

Free automatic savings to checking transfer if you bounce a check - as a matter of fact I use this feature all the time because savings gets better interest than checking.

Interest on checking account money, not fees. Free checking sucks ass. I get paid to have a checking account.

Better CD offers, better loan rates, just plain better.

And, (little known fact) you don't have to be a teacher to be in a teacher's credit union.

So, get a credit union account.

I find it easy - my credit union pays me interest on my checking account balance. There are no fees for anything involved - they just pay you to be a checking account member. That's better than free.

Banks are for-profit bloodsucking organizations. Credit unions are non-profit, pro-member organizations.

I suggest you stay away from Banks. the accounts are controlled by the shadow govt, they can track you much more easily with this information, sometimes they find it hard to know where you are but if you withdraw money from texas one day and money in new york the next they know you're in new york, it's an easy game they play.

Of course banks are only the start of it. Money is your next problem...

I think that I'm going to end up at INGDirect for savings, and just stick it out with key for another year with checking.
