I like the layout. But i think that it should have some more detail/texture. Also, the bevells look a little too smooth.

Kingo, no problem with it, really.
It's just that when you give a name to skin, like bio mechanical, people usually expect a bio-mechanical looking skin...
But I understand that the skin is just at the beginning... So nevermind me.

Best work you've done yet kingo

Some comments:

The wires should have shadows on the metal, if you can make it, would
add a real eeeeh authentic!? touch

Also that box below the main window... i asume it will hold some buttons, i think it would be cool to make that an animated drawer

oh well just some ideas

Good luck skinning

thx ertmann, you commented in the most mature and adult way,
and for that i salute you /me searches for saluting smiley

well, i have drop-shadowed the wires, they look better now, thx for the tip.

now about the other thing: it will be an automated drawer with time display and seek line, it will only open up when you play a file
or a whole playlist... so dont worry your very little head <j/k

kingo.. looking good, as i told u beore, hehe

one hting though, i think adding more curvature to the wires makes them more realistic. i dunno if u get what i mean, but check out the red wire, it is too streight at the top, maybe u could add tiny curves to make it more realistic, or add like metal stuff over the cable, like holders, this would be coool is u get what i mean. other than that looks good. i think the only thing u should work on now are the wires.

good luck, keep it up.

Bah - normaly i am a pretty mature person, except offcourse for my
alcolhol habbits - but that is, like it or not, a product of danish
youth culture

As i have tried to say to you before, if you think i have anything against you what so ever, you have misunderstood me, most likely because i have a pretty sarcastic/ironic way of saying things

Now lets all be friends

there are 2 things I would add to all these mature comments:

1 the pattern of the wires, it seems a bit artificial , there are some very sharp angles that I dislike.

2 the lighted bevel inside the circle, on the bottom, is not needed, as for me.

Good work Kingo', btw

nant, that was a pretty dumb question... It's like the bio products in the us, you think it's bio you're eating but it's actually chemicals and synthetic fat.

Strange..... I was planning on working on a Winamp2.x skin called Bio-hazard or something like that.

I'd try and get the metal a bit lighter in some regions and leave the darker portions for the edges.

Peace

much better kingo. but i have to see, the wires still need some work, maybe just to make them more realistic. i think at the end where here is a screw there should be somthing there, it just seems fake.

and one other thing, it would be cool if u could have the timer in those 4 squares in the middle. yeah i think this is possible, i dunno if anyone has done it before, but i am pretty sure it is possible, and i can try to do it.

neways keep up the good work. as i said i little more time on the wires other than that i love it.

after you get those wires looking more realistic...do more
make it look more complicated
add some nice bevels; maybe put a cutout in it where you can just see a mass of wires going to nowhere in particular
etc

with a "bio mechanical' skin...you want complication
not like hard to use....but just complicated gfx

hrm
maybe at the ends put some exposed copper; and also where they go into the screw make it look like they actually go into the screw and don't just kinda conveniently end at the screw
