Is there rhyme or reason to this deficiency?

I don't have much experience with the modern skins, and I'm sure the intricate scripting is highly complex. I've decided I like and am satisfied with the skin called Itemskin. It's GREAT, but why doesn't Ctrl-W have the usual effect of toggling windowshade mode?? I normally use that a lot. Thanks

Because it has no window shade mode?
[EDIT] Looks like it should: http://www.winamp.com/skins/details/221572

Thanks for trying.

Yes sure, that skin does have a windowshade mode, activated by clicking on the little southwest-pointing arrow.

I dunno -- 'thought maybe there could be some fix for the control-key deficiency. Likely not though. Seems lame, weird.

Having done some looking, the Ctrl + W hotkey seems to be a skin-specific feature. If the MAKI sources are available in the skin file one might be able to modify it to add this.

Might one?? Hubba hubba, that's a juicy proposition. But pray tell sir, what is the actual truth value of said availability?

Also noteworthy is my attempt, just now, to define a global hotkey (Ctrl-Alt-W) to toggle the windowshade function. I can define that hotkey function in Winamp preferences with apparent success but oddly, when used, it fails to trigger anything in this skin or in any of my other (classic) skins. Yet Ctrl-W works OK in those other skins.

Like I said: there seems no rhyme or reason to this bugaboo

if you like classic skins you may like cPro, gives you modern skin functionality and there is a stack of SUI skins all with shade mode despite the category showing zero
