Hard time having shoutcast running

I just rent a VPS - Linux and i have download the shoutcast server to my dir with SSH, i have done everything that the tuterials are suggesting over the internet but still having hard time to have it running.

my ip: 174.127.112.157
port it is running at: 174.127.112.157:8000

i have got this mesg from ssh meaning it is running (through one of the tutorials i have desabled the number of listener and other following information however it is running right now):

****************************************************************
** SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server
** Copyright (C) 1998-2004 Nullsoft, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
** Use "sc_serv filename.ini" to specify an ini file.
****************************************************************

i have not much of knowledge how to have it running and playing random tracks from specific dirctory.

P.S. my main concern is have a radio in different Output for my website user including WMA output, so if this is not best solution for such a result please let me know.

thanks.

the DNAS server does not do playlist handling, etc. for that you'd need your source to do that with the officially provided tools being the Transcoder (sc_trans) or the Winamp + Source DSP setup.

also you've mentioned about having a WMA output - none of the official SHOUTcast tools will create a WMA based stream - only MP3 and AAC (mainly the AAC+ variant) are supported as SHOUTcast stream types.

as SHOUTcast clearly only provides MP3 and AAC streams and nothing else i've no reference to what other streams, etc provide as i only work with what the SHOUTcast tools provide. if you want to provide other formats (*) then you'd have to look elsewhere for those other formats that you're wanting to provide.

so basically, unless it's related to the SHOUTcast tools i'm not going to be able to answer your questions on what to use, etc.

(*) though there's really no need to as MP3 streaming is the generally supported in most players

http://dev.winamp.com/wiki/SHOUTcast..._System_Setups shows some of the SHOUTcast setups but in all cases you need a source and a server for a complete SHOUTcast system where the source is providing the stream to the server in whatever way the source has been configured to work which can be playing files from a folder or from a capture device on the machine e.g. line-in for example.
