1,5 min delay on shoutcast server

HI
i've got a big problem.
i found a sponsor for our radio www.charthitzradio.de
but on the server have to run 2 radios.

the one is from our sponsor and it runs with darvin server.

our radio cant run throug darvin because its not possible to run 2 darvin servers.

we need 2 channels 24kbps and 56kbps.
we installed shoutcast server and everything runs wonderful,
instead of one.

we have a delay of over 1,5mins on live streaming.
if i say something oder play a new song, the listeners hear this more than 1,5mins later i did.

anybody knows how to solve this problem?
becaus this 1,5min delay is not holdable for us.

perhaps if it is possible write me a step by step
manual.

i hope anybody can help me fast, because its weekend and weekend is the only time to work on our server because only our sponsor can do this, and he is working during the week..

thanks for readind
and special thanks for everybody who can help me

SHOUTcast is not realtime, therefore there is no way to get rid of the delay. You also cannot change the delay amount as it is hardcoded into the server.

i cant believe it *snueff*
i cant understand this, shoutcast is one of the most comfortable
streamserver software.

is there any way to bring the shoutcast programmers
to lower the delay time or let the user set the delay time?

do you know an adress where i could ask the programmers personally...

it would make shoutcast server nearly perfekt if there was no delay time...

They are aware that people would like to control the size of the buffer. However last I heard there were a few technical problems with that as well as the fact the buffer prevents breakups therefore increasing the quality of service and they don't really want to decrease the quality and give SHOUTcast a bad name.

shoutcast is very cool,

but the buffer size and the absolutly worst thing that every positiv effekts overblend is that is not useable in any way for live broadcasting,
and live broadcasting is the most interesting way of webradio.

a bad name... every body i know says: shoutcast is really cool, but forgett it beacause of its live broadcasting inability.

everybody who wants to broadcast live cant use shoutcast, and there are tousands who wants to broadcast live..

the could give the new live broadcast able version another way,
and also breakups are mostly serverside bandwidth problems..

also for example winamp has got an own buffer.
if it breaks up to often you can increase your winamp buffer to prevent breakups...

i hope hope they will make a live broadcast able version as soon as possible..

i know that there is also icecast, but its in no way as comfotable as shoutcast, and also it has got no multi port support.
with shoutcast i can use one ip with 2 ports to play on 2 channels..
with icecast i have to consider the way i log in..

or does anybody know another streamserver software that support 2 channels?

I don't know about all that, I think that shoutcast works just fine in a live situation, its similar to live radio, just tell your listener to turn down their radio or turn it off when they are on the air.

I understand their concern as I have experience with other servers which do not buffer, and the connect times are much better with shoutcast with the delay. If it were configurable then it would lose that quality. Besides you can never get to real time due to the time spent encoding, packet lag the internet often experiences and whatnot.
