Fixing Shoutcast's Extended Error
Fixing Shoutcast's Extended Error
(yp.shoutcast.com gave error()) This error is caused by a misconfigured firewall. Make sure port 80 is open for Shoutcast to send data out on. Refer to the documentation that came with your firewall. If you have problems with NAK errors refer to TSGH > Shoutcast - NAK errors. Don't have a firewall? Make sure that you aren't. If you share a high speed connection (DSL/Cable) you are most likley using a Broadband Router or Internet Connection Sharing, both which need to be configured properly. Running WindowsXP? If you are running WindowsXP you need to disable its built in Internet Connection Firewall. First open the "Network Connections" folder then right click on your ISP/Connection and select "Properties". From there choose the "Advanced" tab and uncheck "Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet". Hit "Yes" when the conformation dialog box comes up and then hit "OK" to close the network connection properties box. Refer to Microsoft.com for more information. =============== [Version: 1.1] [Last Update: 01-09-02] |
