Shoutcast streaming data, even when no song playing?

Hi guys,

I notice that when i connect to my shoutcast server, that the shoutcast dsp plugin still streams data when i'm not playing a song through winamp.
The input is Winamp, not the soundcard.

I'm also using windows 7, dunno if this has anything to do with it..

I remember using Shoutcast years ago, and the plugin would wait for a track to start playing before it transfered any data.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply Daz.
Is this feature going to be a problem? I use the shoutcast server from a dedicated box with a bandwidth limit of 1500GB per month..
I dont want to have to worry about this using all my bandwidth, i was really happy with the old version :P

Thanks again for any help

basically if you know you're not streaming then you just need to remember to turn off the stream / DSP until you need it again. yes it will eat into your bandwidth allowance but that's no more different than when something is playing anyway. from what i understand, this was something requested quite a lot and so was added in when the DSP was gettting it's 2.0 updates.

maybe i can look to add in an ini-only option to disable the mode in the DSP if it's really going to be a problem though i cannot guarantee getting that done anytime soon.
