it can take some patience but good luck on your search.

my immediate need is to get 1 of 2 things done soon.

1. make this a joomla module that will simply configure what's in the PHP file for now
2. if i can't get that, i've got it embedded, can i make it if you click it, it opens the player into it's own window?

embedded players are cool but if you jump around while you're surfing, it kills the player.

i hope so too because the people i was hoping could turn this into a joomla module and make thousands of radio stations happy along the way now put this on hold. i said i'd pay but they won't say how much, so - since all i need is this to pop out into a window, i'll hope i can get this feature to work.

i downloaded 4.1.1 and copied all the folders over to my folder on the server. i edited the config.php again to put my station details back and the player is working again like it should. but the only place i can click is the EQ/pic area. if i click it "natively" i go to google.com. if i change goole.com to _blank, i get a blank page.

any help much appreciated. you've done a lot of work on this and taken so many other requests i feel guilty asking, but it's simply the best solution out there i've found yet and it fits so well on my site.

could you make it a joomla module and if so how much could i help with to make it so? if not, just helping me get it into it's own window from the embedded screen would be great.

PM me if you'd like the link to my site. again, thank you! i already feel like i owe you a favor so please let me know if there's anything i can do to help in return.

- Version 4.1.2 - Removed/fixed url calling of the radioplayer, you
can now call it directly with only "radioplayer.php" and not the whole
"radioplayer.php?lang=&z=wmp&config=config". Just like versions before
you can still choose configs in the url. New in this release is that the
language selection in the URL works. Fixed so when u press the stop
button the whole player stops and not only the music. Meaning that the
title and other info stops update to.

Can anyone help me get this to work. I have tried the latest version as well as a few earlier versions, and I keep getting the same message that "This station is Off-Air", but I don't have a problem pulling the stream up manually or with a wimpy button.

I'm using IceCast and WinAmp. The stream is located at http://68.112.219.82:8000/listen.m3u

Now that I think about it, it may be cuz I'm broadcasting from my PC. Is anyone else using their PC as a server and has gotten this to work?

Here's the config file anyway:

<?php

// Radio Station Name
$station_name = "New Orleans Street Music";

// Port for the caster (e.g. 8000) Leave blank if u don't know what your doing.
$caster_port = "8000";

// Caster type: shout or ice
$caster = "ice";

// What skin to use
$radio_skin = "default";

// What language to use
$language = "english";

// If Stream should start automatic when player is loaded
$autoplay = true;

//
// Icecast config parameters
//

// If icecast is used with mount points else leave blank (e.g. /128)
$icecast_mount_point = "/listen";

// .pls type play list.
$playlist_pls = "";

// .asx type play list. Looks like u need an asx type of play list for wmp if

// they are on the same server as the caster ip.
$playlist_ip = "";

// Port of the server where the play lists are located. Leave blank if they

$playlist_port = "";

//

// on the web (jpeg, gif, png...)

// What do u want to use? CD-cover, equliazer, logo (cover, eq, logo)

How does the rest of your setup look like? Do u use your own pc as a webserver also? And what computer do u use for streaming source and caster source?

I basically use my PC as the streaming server and the site that I will be using as the home is being hosted by godaddy. I'm not sure what the difference between caster source and streaming source is. I thought it was the same thing.

Do the script and the stream have to be hosted on the same server?

I'd really like to avoid paying someone to host the stream, when I'm not sure if this is going to make money yet. But if I don't have another option....

U can run the script with no problem on what server u like. It dosnt have to be on the same server. Did u set up the included icecast file correct(short_status.xsl)? Check out the readme for the player.

And in your config:
// .asx type play list. Looks like u need an asx type of play list for wmp if
// u run Icecast.
$playlist_asx = "";
google asx playlist.

Thanks.

Yeah that didn't work either. I opened the pop-up window to full screen and this was the error message that was hiding behind the player:

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to 68.112.219.82:8000 (Connection refused) in /home/content/b/i/g/bigdyce504/html/radioplayer/includes/getinfo_ice.php on line 110

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/b/i/g/bigdyce504/html/radioplayer/includes/getinfo_ice.php on line 71

Not sure what is going on, but I have got to get this working. It is exactly what I'm looking for.

If anyone has any ideas, please share.

Looks like the error is what fsockopen says "unable to connect". When i try to connect to http:// 68.112.219.82 : 8000 my proxy gives me a 503 - connection failed. U shure u got ure port forwarding correct?

Just a quickie, i notice after maybe half a hour the song updates seem to stop and also the listener update seems to stop grabbing the info, i also notice that if the radio goes offline and online again or buffers it stops grabbing the stream info any way of fixing this?

Cheers mate

Drknas,

Sorry, I had to change my network settings so that the IP is static. The address has changed now to http:// 71.15.38.9:8000/ listen and is running.

After looking around, I think it has something to do with the fact that the site is hosted on GoDaddy's shared server setup. I looked in their help section and saw this:

Quote:
Yes, we do. You can use fsockopen on all of our PHP-enabled hosting plans for TCP ports 80 and 443.
I don't know if this helps, but I don't even know where I would enter port "80" or "443" to even try it out.

Ok, so I decided to move the player to a different server. I don't get the error message but the stream doesn't play and the it keeps saying "Checking for Song Title".

I tried adding the internal ip to config.php file but then I get the following error mesage:

"
Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to 192.168.0.12:8000 in /nfs/c01/h02/mnt/8945/domains/bigdyce.com/html/radioplayer/includes/getinfo_ice.php on line 110

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /nfs/c01/h02/mnt/8945/domains/bigdyce.com/html/radioplayer/includes/getinfo_ice.php on line 71"

Any ideas?

I wouldn't recommend using thoose port for casting couse port 80 is standard for http traffic and 443 is standard for secure http.

Some of the embedded players need different playlist files to work properly. Google how to make one and place it on your webserver. Check config about icecast and asx...

Well this player is "just" a mixture of php and javascript that uses embedded players that is already instaled on your computer (e.g. Windows mediaplayer, quicktime...). Normaly some of theese players use a playlist file to play the stream. Have u tried making an asx file or u just ignored it? I also use icecast2 and i need asx files to make it work. Have u tried choosing another of the embedded players in the drop down box of the player? Does it show the title of the current song that is playing or does title just say that the server is offline?

If u got all of them installed at least one of them should work even without the asx.

Did u place "short_status.xsl" in the correct directory with the right permission? Check the readme file...
//Drknas

I have placed the Short_status.xsl in this directory
C:\Program Files\Icecast2 Win32\web

when i try to access this file from the web IE AND FIREFOX
XML Parsing Error: syntax error
Location: "http://latinafm.homeip.net:8001/short_status.xsl"
Line Number 3, Column 1:_START_
^
I think it has something to do with the permissions
i am using Windows xp pro , how would i apply the
chom 644 permissions in windows xp?

thank you,

No the file works fine... Its strange that it hangs at "checking for song title". Do u see any errors in your web or icecast logs that could be related to the player?

Try creating a pls file any way... Do u have any access to the web server logs? Maybe this is a "ogg" issue. But i now of people that got it to work with "ogg" with no problem.
