YP errors with newest build?

I am seeing this for the first time today, after running nicely for about a week

ERROR [YP] Request [http://yp.shoutcast.com:80/yp2] failed, code: 2 [easy handle already used in multi handle]

Running on Linux 32

"Server is currently up and unable to connect to the Directory."

Hi everyone!
Shoutcast DNAS 2.2.2 has been working flawlessly for more than one week now (no hangs/crashes)!
When I find some time, I will setup the test server to allow DrO investigate the "hangs from source" issue.

milosz: hard to say just from that without knowing if there were any other yp actions / issues happening before it. all I can suggest for the moment (as I'm actually away) is to try dropping the source and thrn reconnect and see if that helps. if it doesn't to then restart the DNAS and see if that helps though I suspect its probably something we missed in the libcurl handling now used in place of the custom implementation we had previously (which caused far more yp connectivity issues than the new build seems to have so far).

Cande: is that with the change to relays ? as its otherwise a bit contradictory to say its ok but still mention the source issue.

Actually, I didn't try the "relay workaround" yet (if I only could find some time...), so, yes, sounds like a contradiction, although the random hangs did occur after the upgrade to 2.2.2.
Since this issue shows up when one or more sources have problems, the more than one week uptime is not necessarily a proof of improved stability... maybe it's just because sources have been streaming normally.

By the end of this week I will try stress test DNAS andreport the results.

Thank you!

YP errors persist

I rebooted the server. Of course, that means sc_trans and sc_serv are freshly started.

I am still not being listed in YP. This behavior started when I began using the latest build.

YP listing

I restarted sc_serv again, and this time the YP listing is OK.

I didn't change anything.

YP problems came back

Worked OK for about 6 hours, but now no YP listing

ERROR [YP] Request [http://yp.shoutcast.com:80/yp2] failed, code: 2 [easy handle already used in multi handle]

Running on Linux 32

"Server is currently up and unable to connect to the Directory."

Restarting everything only lets me back on YP for a few minutes, if at all.

I've looked through the log files but the only error - or ANY mention- that I see is "ERROR [YP] Request [http://yp.shoutcast.com:80/yp2] failed, code: 2 [easy handle already used in multi handle]"

milosz: can you please pm me the contents of the config file you're using, sans passwords please. i've an idea of what might be causing that (which so far you're the only one reporting such an issue), so am hoping trying to replicate with your config may help.

Was support for FreeBSD dropped? Is there any plans on building binaries for it?

I'm currently running an older version of DNAS 2 on my FreeBSD cluster.

see the end of my reply in post #12 - http://forums.winamp.com/showpost.ph...7&postcount=12 and subsequent replies in posts #19 and #21

as only 2 people have now even commented on the lack of a BSD 2.2.2 release (you're the second person in the 2 months since the current release), it seems to confirm what the numbers were showing. and i think the Mac build is likely to be going the same way with the new update as we just don't test on that and the numbers are marginal at best.

additionally it wasn't clear what flavour of BSD to target (the 2.x compiles were done for 8.x but as BSD is now on 10.x i believe, if we did bring it back, do we aim for 10.x or keep with 8.x or what - again we're not BSD users so it seems somewhat of a mess).

If you guys do decide to bring it back, building the binary for FreeBSD 8 still would work. 9 and 10 have compatibility libraries to run 8 binaries and older. Version 8 is still supported security wise as well.

I'm still using DNAS 1 built for FreeBSD4 on version 10.

With Linux, I had problems going past 150mbps with one shoutcast process, I don't really have this problem in FreeBSD. Currently doing ~238mbps

I had nothing but crashes and instability problems with this release. My Winamp would crash and the stream would continue on a phantom transcoder stream. The logs ceased to update and I had no managability.

I've been forced to revert to the release I ended up on which was 2.2.1.109

as far as a bug report goes, what you've provided is useless to even start to diagnose the issue. OS version? using it via a control panel? log output ? sources connected / used ? etc...

without useful information there is no way to know if your issues are due to the known issues or something new.

This version of the DNAS doesn't play nice with Shoutcast v1 metadata. The player will not display any song titles, nor does anything come up when logging into the DNAS. We switched to Airtime recently (RIP transcoder) which unfortunately only supports SHOUTcast version v1.x. We fell back to v2.0.0.29 and metadata works again.

it is noted in the known issues the config option which needs to be changed just for the 2.2.2 release, what will be done in the coming update and that reverting is not needed.

v2.4.0 released which fixes most of the issues which have been reported as well as some nice new additions.
