Relocate missing files in playlist?

I cleaned up the directory structure on my harddrive, so obviously all files in winamp were "missing". So I just told it to rescan the library.

But what about playlists? All playlist are no longer finding any files. Is it really not possible to have the playlist regenerated? I mean, it can't be that hard - all files are in the library, it could just search for every song in the library and update the path info?

I'm curious as well if there's any solution for rebuilding playlists after files have been moved.

I found one solution in another thread, but I haven't tried it yet.

It worked pretty good, except for missing support for special characters (like ' æ ø å), so i had to do some files manually. There really should be a built-in function in winamp for this.

Did it fix playlists in the Media Library as well?

It does now. You can repair your media library lists in place, back them up prior to repair, and even extract them w/ proper names to another folder. All this, and a lot more

Just saved me hours of work after moving all my files to a newer, larger hard drive.

Took me a while to find out where exactly my playlist entries were and realise I had to tell it where my music was. Oh, and advise people to remember to save before exiting!
