Stream lags after each song ends and a new one starts
I ran Shoutcast for a couple of years with few problems. I upgraded to v2 today, and now the stream lags for everyone at the end of each/beginning of each song. The only way to fix the issue is for the listener to stop the stream, then restart. My connection is dedicated bandwidth 30mb up 30mb down, so my speeds aren't the problem. I'm using the .aac codec.
Can anyone help me with resolving this problem? I did a search on google and here and got no relevant results. You can see what I mean here http://www.uuddlrlrba.co.uk/radiopopout.html or http://184.174.178.64:8000/listen.pls Thanks ![]() |

it's a known issue with certain configurations and flash players causing the issue to arise. there are changes in-progress (no eta) which should improve this though how much and whether or not it'll require flash players to pass an additional parameter or not is unclear (we're only aiming to make sure that there aren't the issue with the flash player on our site and then see how that trickles down to 3rd party players).

*shrugs* there shouldn't be a reason for the v2 DNAS to be more susceptible to causing this over a v1 DNAS - i guess i've got a load more work to do to try to find the cause *happy days*

(sorry for my english)
I mentioned that this problem appears only when "Use Winamp" option is checked in DSP. But without this option it's imposible to get titles =( Is there any kind of stable server or plugin configuration? |

this is due to the DNAS server and how Flash interprets the stream it sends and is an issue which has been present in both v1 and now in the v2, it's just more obvious with the current implementation of the v2 DNAS. changes will be made in newer v2 DNAS releases but then again this is the issue with trying to use flash players without flash policy servers and other aspects so that it all ends up being hacky.

So sad, because this happens even with Shoutcast native flash player =(
I just used "Use Shoutcast v1 mode" option and problem dissapeared. But now song titles doesn't support Japanese symbols, like it was on older version of DNA (that was main reason i moved to new version). Hope you'll find out how to fix it! Thank you for quick response! |

there is no eta on a fix.
and it is a flash issue since it cannot cope with certain data in the input stream which pretty much every other mp3 player can and does correctly cope with. -daz |
