Plays fine until stopped then will not work 80004005

After starting the computer playing video and sound is fine. As long as you pause video etc. and keep enqueueing items everything works. However if you allow a track to finish or stop, any later attempt to play files results in the message Bad DirectSound driver error code 80004005.

This also stops sound playing in other players such as VLC, which again work fine up until that point.

The only thing I can think of as a possible explanation is to do with registry settings being changed at file close.

Everything was working fine under previous windows install.
There are no driver or hardware errors under device manager.
Re-installing does not fix the problem. Installing new drivers does not fix the problem. Cleaning the registry does not fix the problem.

Firstly upgrade to Winamp 5.581 and confirm, if the issue persists. Winamp 5.581 is the only supported version in these forums.

If the problem is still present, provide more informations including a list of your installed plugins

First of all, there are sticky threads, which explains two things:

1. Winamp 5.581 is the only supported version here

2. Informations are required. Nobody can guess whats wrong with your system, so yeah, unless you're not able to provide the required infos, I don't know, that's right.
