Winamp v5.601 not loading

Winamp v5.601 not loading after update from earlier version. To solve this problem uninstall winamp and when you reinstall it chose another location to install it, not in Program Files, for example you could install it in C:\Winamp.

At a guess, you probably had some old incompatible 3rd-party plugin(s) in %ProgramFiles%\Winamp\Plugins.
The Winamp Uninstaller doesn't remove 3rd-party plugins.
You would need to manually remove them (either by using the 3rd-party plugin's uninstaller, or by deleting the relevant dll)
or perform a proper clean install.

Sure, there is also a chance that Windows has marked %ProgramFiles%\Winamp.winamp.exe as incompatible,
but again, this is more than often caused by some old 3rd-party plugin(s).
