WAV to MP3 and using the equalizer
I would like to use use Winamp to modify the sound of a WAV file using the equalizer to boost the treble then save to an mp3 file.
It works fine mp3 to mp3 but not wav to mp3 I'm using the lame plugin and have it selected to output mp3 but every time I try this wav to mp3 process Winamp crashes. Am I trying to do the impossible? |

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you are doing a lot of WAV to MP3 conversion, go look at Audacity as it will allow better editing of that wav.

Thanks for the reply Batter Pudding, would Audacity let me boost the treble in the same way that Winamp's equalizer does though?

I am pretty sure Audacity would let you do all kinds of tricks to the files. Clever bit of FREE kit which is worth installing.
Note there is a little bit of a manual setup needed for MP3 export, but nothing complex. All explained on the linked page. For your needs, you just need the main Audacity installer. And then the MP3 installer. ![]() |
