Listeners...How many?

Hi,
Quick question: with a shoutcast sever with a configuration of intel Core i9-9900K and 32RAM, how many listeners can I have connected without problem?

the bitrate (? kbps) of your stream will determine how many listeners fit in that limit

there are calculators around here that can do the math for ya.

So I think the math is 940000kbps divided by 128kbps which is my stream, right?
That'll be almost 7,000 listeners. Am I correct?

The hardware is way too much for the DNAS.

7000 listeners @ 128kbps -- that's what 1000mbps gigabit ethernet gets you

100mbps fast ethernet - 700 listeners @ 128kbps

10mbps 10baseT - 70 listeners @ 128kbps

...and that's your outbound (upload) bandwidth that matters here

Math is pretty simple

Upload / bitrate = max listeners.

And always leave at least 10 % as overhead.

if your upload is 512 Kbps
and your stream is 128kbps
you can handle 3 listeners max.
4 would kill your connection.
