Not bad. I have tried dozens of lyrics plugins, all of them I toss away in anger. None of them work properly, and they never have the ONE feature I'm looking for.
Problems: All of the lyrics plugins show in the "Now Playing" section of Winamp5. This is a problem since I only see the lyrics for a few seconds, and then Winamp's default page loads, and there is not button to get the lyrics back. [EDIT] I've tried this a few more times, but only somtimes does it go away... the majority of the times it stays. However, it would still be perferable if it had it's own window ![]() The one feature I'm looking for: I'm looking for a lyric plugin that simply takes the lyrics, and saves it as a .txt file. There is ONE such plugin, but it does not allow you to choose the DIR it saves the txt file in -- so I tossed that plugin aswell. [@imho] man [@imho] I had dreams about unit testing last night :-( [@sim`a] i have nightmares about syntax errors, whats your point |

I'd like to improve the plugin for winamp5 but I dont know where to get info about that, in winamp2 works perfectly, but in winamp5 with the new minibrowser (media library) sometimes got problems, I recommend to disable all the check box in preferences

I installed it in wa3 but I get nothing. It seemed to install fine and reinst fine but nothings active. If i open the mini browser it isn't there either. I'm looking to replace lyricsamp but even though most of its lookups dont work anymore it still finds more songs than lyrix or evillyrics or a few others I've tried. If you want to do lyrics look at lyricsamp and build frome there. His concept was great he just never finished it.

Winamp3 is now unsupported (even though HellMind and sanosuke both offered "unofficial" support to you ![]() ![]() Anyway, I received your email. I do not respond to Winamp-related questions via email. But I will reply here instead of via email because it "might" tend to be of benefit to others as well, with the same or similar question, and not just one person. Read my sig in any of my posts that contain my sig and you will see the same "credo"... So don't email me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. This was your question... Quote:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....78#post1160878 But there are many many lyrics plugins for you to choose from as well... http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse...C&query=lyrics It's a matter of what personally works for you and what doesn't. EvilLyrics works just fine for me. You may have artists/albums in your collection that are more obscure than mine. Who knows? EvilLyrics has found the lyrics to 99.9% of every song in my collection... even moreso than LyricsAMP ever did. It does not pull from multi databases as LyricsAMP did, but the search results are very good indeed. EvilLyrics is great IMHO. Anyway, trial and error, dude... trial and error. I'm sure you'll eventually find one more to your liking. And yes... both I and damage07 were at one point active in helping and supporting revhu early on in LyricsAMP development for the now unsupported Winamp3 player, when revhu was having a problem with the duplicate LAMP files remaining on the end-user's puter... http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....946#post767946 But I gave up entirely when he was no longer actively working on and no longer even supporting his Winamp "component", and I closed the thread, leaving it viewable for archive reference purposes only... http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....80#post1116080 That's about all I can tell you. As I said, if EvilLyrics or Lyricsys are not to your liking, then try other lyrics plugins until you stumble upon one that personally works well for you and the songs you have... http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse...C&query=lyrics __________________________________________ P.S. @HellMind... Please do not feel as if I've highjacked your thread. I have not tried your plugin as of yet. Who knows? Perhaps it's better than EvilLyrics! I was just responding to a question directed to me by nomadh. I'll try your plugin soon and then report back. ![]() Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. Thanks for the help Nunzio. I wanted your opinion because I knew you had seen how good lyricsamp was getting. Many of the referrals I've seen here were to horrible products. I've installed perhaps 7 of them now. So far evil was the best of the non lyricsamp. But even with LA only working at a few locations it is still beating the competition by alot. I suspect LAmp has a much more flexable name lookup. I admit my tags are a mess but they are all burned to cds now and there are way to many to mess with. Revhu really had that part down.
And to Hellmind.... I tried lyricsys in my WA 2.80 and it seems installed i can config but I have nothing to look at. Any ideas? Also hellmind I highly reccomend anyone writing a lyrics plugin get and run a copy of WA3 with lyricsamp if for no other reason than to see a verygood interface and outstanding hit ratio. If you cant find the parts email me I probably have the downloads around still. If you do that I will certainly take another shot at using your product specially since I don't know if I mind using the mini browser ![]() Thanks all, Damon |

well any luck getting LyricSYS his own independent window, I just don't use it because it takes up my minibrowser and then it doesn't refresh properly (using winamp 5.02), it loads the Lyrics page but right afterwards opens the regular Winamp Minibrowser page :S

![]() thank you for this I am using it in version 5.02, and i am not having refresh problems (oddly enough) I dont mind it in the media library, but i would like it in another window if possible, sometimes i use the library and would like the lyrics to still be there |
