Better than MP3

Today as I was driving, I turned to the local college radio station to be delighted by hearing some of today's best rock music, but not in its usual form. It was being played as a MIDI! Let me tell you, there is no greater pleasure than hearing Papa Roach, Metallica, and System of a Down as MIDI. Anyone else here love the sound of the MIDI?

I like my regular radio station as it is. They play acoustic versions of music artists on Sunday mornings.

MIDI, if pulled off correctly, can do some pretty fantastic things. For a time, it was completely cutting edge.

*shrugs*
That wouldn't be "rock" though, would it? Obviously those bands you mentioned would sound a lot better in midi though that doesn't mean that midi is a superior format

every time you convert a good song file into midi, an angel loses its wings.

Nah, the wings just get a nice thorough shave. Shaved would be the term I believe; some like it, some don't.

Yeas, I've heard the sound of MIDI, and love MIDI's, but it's no replacement for any other music format. It's only instruments, and although that's cool and all (and great for game CD's), it's only a part to the music I love.
