Hi,
Im woundering if I can configure buffer timeing to start on
a given "kB" to elimenate those jitters right before
re-buffer.

See Im trying to record at a higher bandwidth than I can stream(my modem 43kb - and im recording 56k.
http://www.davee.com/scanrec/index.html
This utility makes all this posible by letting you record over a set "db" which is configurable in the program.
Thanks in advance for you help.

Buffer settings:

Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Input -> MPEG Audio Decoder -> Config -> General & Streaming tabs

Prefs -> Output -> DirectSound -> Config -> Buffering tab

Adjust all buffer/prebuffer values to taste.

your experience>>Suggested buffer setting

aloha -
I've got a fast ISP connection (20ms ping / 2hops) with hawaiian.net, but since I live on Kauai it takes a while for AT&T to get data from the mainland.
Typical pings to yahoo say 224ms, but when i do a tracert yahoo.com it takes 15 hops, some over 500ms.
for streaming audio DIGITALWOLF.COM its 114ms and 16 hops, some taking 500ms.

and with that many hops, its easy to see that i get lots of gaps in my connections.

the buffer empties and rebuffers, the music starts and stops,
and its so anoying,
and thats with 5069k for a buffer of the plugin/input/MPEG/stream preference.

Any better input plugings for streaming audio with my type of situation?

If not any other plugins, any other tweeks of my NT4Server/SP6a/MSIE5.5/SP1 128meg/800MHzmachine?

Mahalo in advance for the help - Randy
