rule# - Please don't post things like links to downloads - advertising is not allowed in these forums!

If you don't get any replies that means

A. no one cares about it - so don't post again in your own thread just to get it back on the top of the page again
B. we are not into that kind of music - so don't bother again.
C. we know the rules about advertising and have decided to ignore the post you made.

Hmm, lol... I have seen something like this before.
On another forum...
In there it was more like...

As a newbie, be ready for bashing... whatever you post.
If you make a new topic, don't dare make it about a certain artist or band and mention that they have an album coming out - that is considered advertising and spamming and you will be banned, removed from this board immediately for breaking the rules in the most terrible way. You won't get any explanation. It's just the way it is.

If you make a topic that no one cares about, be ready for bashing.
Look around carefully to see what majority likes and keep quiet about your favorites if they're different. Better not mention them at all. Cause people just don't like to hear about them. You will be bashed and after further thinking, banned.

Years ago.
Thought they were really masucline chics.
A BSDM fantasy if i'm not mistaken.
Found out they were dudes when i was listening to some comic on TV two days later making fun of them for that same reason.
ah well, at least it isn't recent history

Rule #2866 - remember that a garage band is always more respectable than an orchestra.

Rule #5876 - be closed minded and remember to keep telling yourself and others that rock an techno are the end-all-be-all of music.

The most basic Rule EVER

Do not for any reason keep posting in the one-line song/single artist threads all the time, and I repeat: DO NOT FOR FUCK'S SAKE USE THE FORUMS AS A MEDIUM FOR INCREASING YOUR POSTCOUNT. OTHERWISE, THESE THREADS WILL BE MOVED INTO THE RECYCLE BIN.

Please be more interactive with the rest of us & make some thoughtful topics for all of us to get involved in.

My request is to move the 1980s game and the A-Z artists game into the Recycle bin - it only encourages post-pumping.

No way! These belong in the music forum.

Have you gone mad Triton?

The A-Z of artists is a discussion thread. The 1980's game is a bit of light-hearted relief.... post counts mean nothing to most people. It's about music - nothing else.

What??? Maybe you're mad - look into the state of these forums over the last few months:

Everyone who posts in this forum only posts in 4 threads - the MP3 listening to, Band/Song game, 1980s game and the A-Z artists game.

Nobody ever fucking reads the other threads here.
Nobody ever fucking interacts with the rest of us.
Every damn thread I make goes down the drain.

If you're trying to make out what I'm saying, then please look here:

Look into pages 4 and 5

yup, those violinists are too rebellious these days.

why can't they be more like those kids today who properly recycle their guitars by breaking them into smaller pieces inside their parents garage?

*Digs out the flame retardant suite*

From my experience, classical music people are usually snobby elitists.

There are very few bands who will smash a guitar, only a handful who will do it live. Those guitars and drums tend to cost a lot of money...

true, and i can't stand them either....every genre has a ton of people who ruin it for the rest.

thats why i tell people i dont listen to music when they ask me......since "i listen to video game music and classical" just gets me some eyerolls.

I'll agree with that. Metal (black metal in particular) is filled with elitists too. Thankfully they're all 13 so it's easy to get them to shut up.

I think that used to be true, but not anymore.

It has nothing to do with tax bracket elitism - in fact because most Orchestras today are money-losing non profit organizations, the cost of tickets is usually lower than a pop music act. (Unless a headliner like Pavarotti (now retired) was playing, then they become the most expensive tickets in the world)

"Elitism" eminates from most fields where people learn a lot of erudution. For classical music, every song and composer has books and books on abstract musical theory, evolution of form etc etc. I think a lot of the reactions of classical music people to most modern music come from the lack of conceptual history, comparatively.

<---- Classical music person (Hopefully not a snob)

Now is the time for all good Americans to come to the aid of their Country

Back to Hanson and those that abused the support of them. One of my favourite remixes is of a Hanson track. One of orignal Warp Records artists The Black Dog (just after 2/3 of the members moved to Plaid) did the remix of a track called 'If Only. A lovely Trip-Hop number.

Worth seeking.....never seen the orginal an Australian only rarity.
