To much bass...looking for a simple plug in
I just got a digital receiver and it sounds really good. But the bass is so tight and strong I need to be able to turn it down, otherwise I'll get evicted from my apartment. The only problem is that this receiver doesn't have bass and treble adjustments, it has an equalizer and it's a pain to mess with. So, being I lestion to all my music off of Winamp, is there a simple plug in where I can adjust the bass and treble? I'm not into DSPs or any special effects. I just want a simple Bass and Treble plug in so I can re-adjust the sound without messing with equalizers.
Thanks, -Dman |

I know it uses the eq but you can just use the preset "Full Treble"
That's what I use at night when I don't wanna piss people off. |

Some modern skins have bass and treble controls.
Or, if you prefer to use Classic skins or another skin without bass/treble controls try the Low_Bass presets file. Download and unzip the file. They are EQF (individual preset) files. To use them in Winamp... 1. Click the Presets buttonIf you want you can add the presets to Winamp's defaults presets. 1. Click the Presets button [edit > JonnyMac] Update: Attachment (and this post) has been updated to include two new low bass presets. 'Medium_Bass' and 'MedLow_Bass' included with the original 'Low_Bass'. Download count at the time of the update was at 300. [/edit] For tips on using Winamp's EQ... From TSGH > Winamp Equalizer Q&A Guide [edit2 > JonnyMac] Updated post to add the skins with bass/treble controls link [/edit2] |

I have the same problem:
My Logitech-Sound-System (2.1) has too much bass (that is a known problem!). I used the EQF-File from this thread, but there is still too much bass in my opinion. The controller from the system is already by zero. Are there any other hints, to solve this problem? (BTW: Excuse my bad English, please.) |

Maybe the following Winamp teaks will help. However, if it is a issue with the Logitech system the tweaks may not work/
Try switching between waveOut or DirectSound Winamp > Ctrl+P > Plugins > Output > highlight/select DirectSound or waveOut Does this happen with MP3 or ACC files Winamp > Preferences > Nullsoft Mpeg Audio Decoder > checkmark (or uncheck) 'Fast Layer 3 EQ' Also, in the EQ the sliders from the center to the left are the bass frequencies. Have your tried lowering all the left sliders? Otherwise have your tried asking at Logitech Support or the Logitech Forums? |
