Changing URL

Is there a way to set a custom URL for my shoutcast stream? For instance. If i want mine to be 88cores.com/radio, how would i do that?

Not possible with SHOUTcast itself, you could solve with a webserver and PHP.

Therefore not trivial for the OP. Perhaps an alternative would be to generate a new AuthHash which requires (re)entering new station details. Would there be any downside to this?

generating a new authhash will not change the stream url -- having a domain name and website would only alow you to redirect to the server's real ip -- then you would update the authhash to the new website address.

absolutely not trivial.

Of course: I was implying that you change the stream URL and then generate a new AuthHash.

Along the same lines, when I used to use a Shoutcast 1.x Source with a 1.x DNAS, I used to be able to advertize my stream URL as "http://<IP Address: port>/played.html" as a quick way to show the play history.

Now that I am running a 1.9.0 Source with 2.5.1.724 DNAS, revising the "RadioManager>Information>Website" to "http://<IP Address: port>/played.html" only yields the stream URL as www.shoutcast.com.

Yet, at the same time, when I go to the address "http://<IP Address: port>/played.html", the browser gets redirected to "http://<IP Address: port>/admin.cgi?sid=1&mode=history" and properly displays Shoutcast Song History (without knowing the admin password mind you).

Any way to get Shoutcast.com to give my "Shoutcast Song History" page as my stream URL?

it's likely that because you are the admin for your station, the redirects are specific to you while you're logged in (or have a cookie keeping you logged in). maybe try with a different browser that you're not logged into the radiomanager with and you should get non-admin redirects.

the radiomanager is supposed to make the process of setting up and running a server easier, but if you've mastered the old ways, it seems so much more complicated.

lastly, make sure the authhash details on the DNAS itself have the correct info -- you can verify this by going to the DNAS admin pages... I think there may be inconsistency between the yp directory info and DNAS info at times.
