external soundcard vs winamp

Hello

I'm a winamp user now for 2 years, and i really like the program!
I recently bought a Presonus Audiobox USB, an external soundcard, or interface. I've connected my KRK RP6 studio monitors to them. I record a lot of music with cubase. In cubase my Audiobox won't give any problems. But if i use Winamp 5.5 with my interface, i hear a glitch/click/little lag noise (very short) once every minute, or more.
I noticed that it makes that noise often if more progams are active (firefox, msn, like that).

PC info:

Windows XP sp3, with the latest version of Winamp.
AMD Athlon XP, 2100 MHz (12.5 x 168) 2800+
1 gig workmemory
Motherboard: Chaintech 7VIL4
nVidid Geforce 7200 GS
(nothing to do with this but still..)
no onboard soundcard anymore

Anyone knows where this click noise is comming from, and/or how i can solve this?

Try the DirectSound tweaks. Although not necessary close Winamp, Windows and reboot the computer after making the DS tweaks. Some users have found changes don't fully take place until a reboot.

If you also notice a click each time the track changes try the following post...
