Windows 10 Fall Creators Update causing Shoutcast connection problem
Hi,
First of all sorry for the long post. I am wondering if anyone else has come across this problem since having 'Windows 10 Fall Creators Update' installed. I had just set up a Dell Latitude latop with Window 10 installed, to run as my shoutcast server and everything has been running well over the past week or so. Until the other day when Windows 10 decided to download and install 'Windows 10 Fall Creators Update'. Since then it has now made my streams inaccessible! Even though Winamp is running and the DSP plugin Status is showing that data is being sent and the Shoutcast DNAS servers are also showing that the streams are up and running too. But when I try and connect to one of the streams from another machine via WinAMP. WinAMP shows me it is 'Connecting' to the stream, and if I look on the Shoucast DNAS server it show the connection. But WinAMP then shows me that it has 'Timed Out' and does not play the stream. Also if I look at my shoutcast stat's it shows me that there is a 'Current Listener' but when WinAMP fails to connect, the 'Current Listener' is still shown connected. So if I then try and connect again, it fails and the 'Current Listener' count goes up by 1. If I keep doing this the 'Current Listener' count goes all the way up until it hits my Max Listeners, and then WinAMP states that the server is full. So it looks like Shoutcast does not allow the connection to the stream and it does not clear the 'Current Listener' count after the failed connection attempts. I have checked to make sure all my ports that my streams use are open, which they are. As I Host and serve from my laptop and don't use a 3rd party hosting service. Luckily a few days before the 'Windows 10 Fall Creators Update' was downloaded and installed I had taken a Drive Image, so I restored that back onto my Laptop and it is now all working again. The problem now is that Windows 10 automatically downloads and installs updates, even though you can delay them etc.. it wont stop them indefinitely. So at some point it will update to 'Windows 10 Fall Creators Update' and then I will be back to the same position I was in before I restored the drive image. I have, after looking on net, found that you can stop windows updating automatically(see link below). But I am not 100% sure that this will work, but I have done what it suggested and will have to wait and see if it does stop update downloads and installs. The only problem will be that my machine will not receive any updates including security updates which I am a bit wary off not getting. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-s...lly-windows-10 So I am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem or does anyone know what exactly changed with this 'Windows 10 fall Creators Update' that may be causing this problem with Shoutcast? Things I have looking into: Making sure all required PORTS are OPEN within Windows Firewall and my Router. |
