playlists after moving library

Expanded my system so moved library to D:\ drive (same directory name).

Of course now the playlists don't work.

Is there any simple method of editing the lists to where the files are now located? I've worked hours trying to edit using find\replace and nothing seems to work.

VERY frustrating having to rebuild the playlist one song at a time.

At one time Winamp had a simple playlist and it was easy to edit when changes were made. Now the playlists are coded and almost impossible to find.

TIA

If all you did was change the drive letter (e.g. C:\ to D:\), then using Notepad to find and replace should work.

Sounds like you have media library playlists instead of external playlists that were imported to the media library. If they are external lists, then delete all the lists in the media library and re-import the 'fixed' external lists. It they are library lists then look in your users appdata 'Winamp\Plugins\ML\Playlists' folder. The location of this folder depends on the version of Windows you are using. The playlists in this folder have unique alphanumeric names (that Winamp gave them) that are internally associated with the names displayed in the media library. You can also use Notepad on these playlists to find and replace the drive letter.

Your location would be "C:\Users\???\AppData\Roaming\Winamp\Plugins\ML\Playlists". Replace the "???" with your user profile name. You may also need to turn on the view hidden folders option in Windows Explorer.

Winamp also makes 2 copies of the playlist for the files listed in the Playlist Editor when it is shutdown. These files are in the "C:\Users\???\AppData\Roaming\Winamp" folder and they can also be edited in Notepad. These playlists are named "Winamp.m3u" and "Winamp.m3u8".
