Opening/playing torrent files

Hi! I downloaded a 58.3 KB torrent file that ends with a .torrent file extension.

Can I use WinAmp to open this file? Is there any special plug-ins I need?

Thanks!
Xeon.

A .torrent file is not the music/video itself but info needed to download it.

It has to be used with a Bittorrent client program to download the actual file.

Azureus = very good

Bittorrent = very easy

Thanks, Ujay and Darnley!

Ok, I downloaded BitTorrent and it seems that BitTorrent is automatically opened whenever it detects that a .torrent file has been downloaded.

However, I always seem to get this error on BitTorrent that says : Problem connecting to tracker - <urlopen error (10060, 'Operation timed out')>

Does anyone know what's wrong and what I gotta do?

Thanks!
Xeon.

Try looking on the bit torrent site.
However:
Does your fire wall block bittorrent's internet access?

I doubt so. My firewall, Norton Internet Security, asks me whether I should give BitTorrent access to the Net, and I said yes.

Strange, though.
By the way, is it possible if you download the stuff for me and send it to me? It's only about 3.5 MB total.

Thanks!
Xeon.

From : http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/romeria/errors.htm

Problem connecting with tracker - (10060, 'Operation timed out')
That error means that the server/tracker is down or too busy to process your request. Just keep trying - leave it open.
