Jurassic 5

I got this CD in the mail, I never had heard them (or I though) Until I opened the case and saw Chali 2na (featured in frgt/10 on Linkin Park's reanimation CD)

The CD Power in Numbers is great, It's not the same ol'shit that you hear on the radio, it's actually very good hip hop.

Anyone else heard this cd?

Opinions?

I have their debut. It was praised at the time for being retro and at the same time taking hip-hop further. IMO, it was nothing special at all. So I haven't listened to any subsequent releases.

If the new album turns out to be good after all, let me know!

I would recommend, DMX Krew/We Are DMX (1999).

The new album is actually pretty good, It has the same retro feel but it's alot more matured I guess you would say. It also has a great instrumental on the end.

i have quality control - it's a high-class album. jurassic 5 show that hip-hop isn't all commercialised and rubbish.

and show that it's not all about "smackin' hoes" and "makin' cheeze" which is what ruined hip hop. IE 36 Mafia, DJ Paul, etc.

GAHH! Jurassic 5 is awsome!

But you're right...They're not like the mainstream rap you see on MTV where it sounds like the song is nothing about smackin' hoez, shooin' bitches up and all that "bling-bling" shit...I actually respect them, and I'm not much of a hip-hop person...

Power In Numbers is a good album, but I sorta like Quality Control a bit more. Great Expectations is a good song from QC...

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...
