R6025 - pure R6025 - pure virtual function call -> filename length

I have a clean (no plugins or third party apps) install of Winamp 5.51 on three different machines. All machines are running Windows XP SP2, with 2gig of RAM and varied processors (one is a P3, one is a Xeon and the third is a Centrino Duo-core). With each, when I right click on a file in the playlist editor, I occasionally get the following error:

Quote:
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Winamp\winamp.exe

R6025 - pure virtual function call
I have narrowed the problem down to have something to do with the length of the filename or file path. If I rename a long file name to something shorter or move a long filename file to the root of my C drive, a right-click that didn't work before will now work just fine.

Any ideas on how to correct the issue? It gets to be a pain to rename a longer file name to see the context menu...

Thanks in advance.

Pure Virtual Function Call R6025

I get this error at varios times, when I try using a Sansa Express, or sometimes just when I'm ripping CD's. Any solutions out there?

r6025 pure virtual function call

I struggled with this yesterday - I uninstalled and reinstalled Winamp - found no change so followed one suggestion on the web that to reinstall Java runtime environment.

I reinstalled Java and have had no error messages of this type since I restarted my computer.

Hope this works for you.

I know this thread is quite old, but the problem still occurs...
I’ve reinstalled Winamp latest version and the problem persists...from what I have found on this issue on Microsoft’s support site http://support.microsoft.com/search/...&ast=31&res=10 this error isn’t unique to Winamp and can occur with any application which has a wrong/bad coded file...another reason for the r6025 error is a registration problem in Windows, this means that that if a program isn’t registered correctly while installed that it might popup. If it is coding problem, then is there a file that needs to be replaced, or is this a registration problem so I need a new installation package...?.
