Don't worry, the subject will come up again next week (or the week after). Worded slightly differently of course. You have a chance to do some research.

The US didn't save Europe's ass; it was the other way around. Hitler threatened the whole world; he would have come for us eventually, but Europe was in the way. So it was France, Poland, Russia and England that had their cities attacked, their homes violated, thier women and children threatened and killed along with the men-- and not us. Not cause the Europeans are manly men with bigger dicks, or whatever the shitwit who started this thread was trying to make it about. It was just an accident of geography, but I think there are limits to how grateful Europe should be.

Also, it's pretty widely held that if France hadn't supported America during tbe revolution, there never would have been a United States of America.

Well here's my thesis: take it or leave it. I've already said this, so pay attention.

My argument is based on the idea that, if there were no obstacles, Hitler would have attacked the United States directly. Many people believe this, though I'm sure it can't be proven.

So my thesis is that England (and France and Poland, etc.) saved our asses simply by being the countries that Hitler had to attack first. It's a different way of looking at things, but I think its perfectly valid.

if hitler had had the forces of the whole european block, not to mention russia, the US wouldn't have stood a chance, no.

that said, if he hadn't persecuted the jews, the US wouldn't have been able to make the atomic bomb...

the more taht i think about it, i doubt that hitler would have been able to conquer the Americas (without the help of an ally on the continents). an amphibious landing wouldnt be too hard with all of the real estate to choose from, but with supply lines that long (again assuming that there are no german allies in the western hemisphere at this point) it would have been difficult to sustain a ground war capable of capturing all of the americas (keep in mind the transport used at the time would be ships, airplanes flying across the atlantic to deliver troops/supplies was still infeasible)

what do you think (sorry for all of the parentheses ) (again)

i doubt it would have been a practical attack in any way. i suppose if they could find somewhere (or, more likely, more than one place) uninhabited - possibly canada...? to establish bases, then they'd have a far better chance of catching the continent off-guard (as it were). they'd have to establish a hell of a presence a hell of a quick, though, as their forces would be effectively surrounded by a lot of people.

We're not uninhabited. And if he had tried, it would have been Russia all over again (They try to invade, we hold them off just long enough for them to freeze).

The world is made of conflicts: good and evil, order and chaos, light and dark, hot and cold. All are essential to life. None can prevail for any length of time, or life will fail. In the end, the best any can hope for is balance.

The reason why Russians had so many casualties is because they didnt have enough guns to give to the millions of Russian troops. Russians fuck eachother way too much, like China!

actually it was the supreme ineptitude of the russian commanders. russian military commanders at that time were selected for advancement not for their ability to direct battle, but for their political reliablility.

even though the convo has changed since i foudn this thread today.. i wanted to put in my two cents on a reference that was made once or twise and let u guys go back to yer original subject...

The upside down crossthat u see as an evil simble, wich "if u look" appears frequently in pictures of the pope is a reference to the tradition that St. Peter was executed on an upside down cross. This was done as aa humble jesture - in a way bowing

that simble has be warped out by holywood and also Satanists use this simble to also mock the Church (aperantly they didn't study their history very well when they came up with this bright idea).
eather way, people react to it much like the SWASTIKA..
its a good simble just got a bad reputation by uneducated people.

<edit> yes thread can die, sorry
