Stream my shoutcast on Windows Mobile phone

Is there anyone to do this through the Windows Media Player on my Treo 700w? There isnt a Open URL

Also, I have a website where on Internet Explorer I can go to and tune into my Shoutcast. Unfortunately, the Windows Mobile browser doesnt recognize this code, leaving me the inability to tune that way.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

start by asking the mfg of your phone. I doubt many people in this forum have tried to do this.

However, I encourage anyone to prove me wrong and post the solution....

Come on!!!! I dare ya!

well, as much as your reply was appreciated mauacegua, the treo 600 runs on palmos, where as the 700w runs windows mobile 5. so to answer your original post paul9290, i use GSplayer. it can be found here:

works great for shoutcast streams and normal audio files alike enjoi!

Awesome marky. Now I am wondering if there is a way to code in an embedded Windows MEdia Player so all I need to do is go to my site( www.ryanismy.name ) and play it through my site.

Windows Mobile version of IE doesnt recognize the code PC browsers do.

ANyone?

well, that i'm not sure about. you might want to check out 'opera mobile'. its the opera web browser in mobile format, displays much of the same stuff normal pc browsers do, but it *is* quite a memory hog.

what exactly wil you be displaying in those wmp webpage streams?

Hmmm...not sure what your asking? On my site I have the big WMP embedded player with playback, volume, etc and then space below that just states the name of my station. I'd like to have it display the song and artist info, but that seems not to be an option based on other cool people on this site and similiar sites.

As for creating code that Windows Mobile IE recognizes, I just want the easy ability to go to my site, see the embedded player and then push play to listen to my station. No other
software needed. Havent figured out how do that. I am going to try Opera and the other player you pointed me to.

Cheers, Ryan

I recommend the free, but excellent GSPlayer for playing SHOUTcast streams. Excellent little program that doesn't take much resources, and it can be windowed into a small window that can float on top of other applications, which comes convenient when you browse through ShoutCast radio station listings, etc with Pocket IE.

How are the other ones working for you? I mean, most of these are pretty old, aren't they?

Or do the people keep them updated?

Sure have.

Artist/Title streaming from Shoutcast is simply not supported by wmp.

I am not properly sure about it. you might want to look into 'opera mobile'. it's the particular internet explorer browser in cell file format however it is a serious memory space tool.
