Hi,

I did a quick search through forums but didnt see this mentioned

So, could you guys fix that link in the minibrowser?!

I always get a "page not found, or you have no permission " crap.

The link used to be "top 50 shoutcast"... but it disappeared after "update links"

Greetings,
Unique

If you're talkin' about:
Minibrowser ^ button -> Shoutcast Top 50
Clicking on that link works ok for me.
Maybe it was being updated at the time you were trying to access it?
Try again!

Hi,

Thanks for replying..

But it is not the:
Minibrowser ^ button -> Shoutcast Top 50

Cause this link has been replaced by the:
Minibrowser ^ button -> Listen to SHOUTcast Radio!
AFTER manualy pushing
Minibrowser ^ button -> update links
OR after the automatic update while installing winamp

And i cant seem to get the old working Shoutcast Top 50 back.
(maybe it would be usefull to make the links editable, like a sort of bookmark, so people can add custom links in it )

So i think something went wrong in the update file on your server.

You could try to update your own winamp links and then try again

Then you will see the link is broken.

Weyhey! I'm with ya now!
Ho ho ho . . . you are not wrong my friend!

I've just clicked "update links" myself.
Bye-bye went "Shoutcast Top 50", replaced by "Listen to Shoutcast Radio".
Clicking this link returns a http 404 file not found error in mb window.

But wait . . . all is not lost . . . and now to the manual fix . . .
It already is possible to edit these links!

No need to close Winamp or minibrowser.
Goto Winamp dir -> rt click on winamp.lks file -> Send To -> Notepad
(or simply open with Notepad)

I've noticed that there's a ? (question mark) missing from the relevant url.
Scroll along the line until you come to:
BrowseLoc http://www.shoutcast.com/mbradio.phtml?artist....
As you can see, there's no question mark between phtml & artist.
Add one (as above) & this link will instantly work again!

Now, if you want to add the Top50 link . . .

Type in the following line somewhere:
BrowseLoc http://yp.shoutcast.com/mb-index.phtml Shoutcast Top 50
I added mine inbetween the winamp.com link & Listen to Shoutcast link.

Make sure there's a black block-spacer character thingy inbetween each link,
ie. at the beginning & end of this new text.
You can use copy & paste method to do this!
Basically, remember that everything needs to be on the one line.

I think you'll find that everything works ok now!

It might be a good idea to back this file up somewhere just in case you ever decide to click "update links" again. Me too

Whoops!
Also noticed that "update links" removes the Online Documentation link

If you want to edit that back in too, using the above method, add this:
BrowseLoc http://www.winamp.com/download/docs/index.jhtml Online Documentation

I've also added a link to CNet's Online Manual in mine:
BrowseLoc http://www.help.com/cat/2/657/337/339/341/ht/index.html CNet's Winamp Manual
[sheizzen . .. doesn't fit on one line here . . . but ya get the picture!]

In fact, you can add as many links as you want.
I'm not even sure if there's a limit?
Just don't forget to paste in the seperator inbetween each entry!

Hmm . . . you can even change the choice of the default page too . . .
Better not go into this here . . .
