looks like its just a cookie, not spyware. Probably your anti-spyware warning you about a tracking cookie, which is employed by online services to ensure its not serving you up more adverts than it should.

Hmm, strange. I don't see any user@2o7.txt cookie in my cookies folder, or anything that remotely resembles it. What part of Online Services were you using at the time? SingingFish search maybe?

username@2o7.txt

wherer username is my user account.

I was using the sc-TV part.

And I get this cookie evertime i open the online service in generall.

There are two files :
username@2o7.txt in the cookie direktory
and username@2o7.net in the 'Temporary Internet Files' directory

the second one is not identified as a spyware!!

What adverts would these be then?
Is this some part of Online Services I don't use, or is it something we have to look forward to in the future ?

The adverts served prior to the music videos. only available in the US anyway afaik.

AOL have to pay the pigopolists per view for those I think.
Ok, so its AOL, but seriously, have to feel bad about that raw deal.

first:
...so why is it caused when opening the Online Service in generall without watching any video, or any TV or Radio List.

second:

Is winamp using IE since 5.21 or since Winamp 5 ??
The older versions dont afect the cookie.

indeed:
==> Same problem by ICQ --there it is user@atwola.txt

Yes, Online Services uses IE

If you're at all concerned about the 2o7.net cookie (which, as explained by CraigF, is used to track/serve ads for the free video streams for users in the USA only - which explains why I don't have the cookie, 'cos I'm in the UK), then you can opt out here (note, you'll need to open it in IE, not some other browser):

http://www.omniture.com/privacy/2o7?f=2o7#optout

And/or you can just block the cookie by adding omniture.com / 2o7.net to the Restricted Sites zone in IE Control Panel > Security (though then you'll probably get script errors when trying to view any of the free video streams).

Their opt-out method is kind of weird, you have to install another cookie that indicates that you are opted out...

i never use IE and so it is always in the restricted mode on my system (no cookies at all).

The cookie appears for me here in the UK.

As I tried to indicate earlier the cookie is installed whenever you use any of the Online Services(inc. setup), it's in the source for the page itself not the individual searches. If it doesn't appear then maybe you have Internet > Privacy set to it's highest level or otherwise blocked.

You haven't got hold of some dodgey beta again have you Egg

I dunno, maybe one of my security apps is blocking it or something (could be any of spywareblaster, windows defender, boclean, spybot sd, etc)

Both Internet & Security levels are set to default Medium in IE Control Panel, I don't see a 2o7.net cookie anywhere (there's no tracking cookies present and never will be), all of the Online Services work just fine, and yes, I'm using one of those dodgy 5.22 betas, lol.

Thanks to all for the Reply ,

I try the best.

....

The Best Methode is explained by DJ Egg:

And the Best: No script Error occures.!!!
