Oh, my error was that I had set "Show Winamp in: [x] System Tray [ ] Taskbar". However, I had Winamp pinned to the taskbar but that isn't enough.
By the way, I think the UI should be redrawn when the user clicks "next track" or "previous track", even if winamp is minimized, so it won't show the old song title in the "thumbnail". Schöne Grüße in die Sputnik-Zone. |

Very good release! I skipped 5.57x and I think this is the next one for me to go for....
![]() Btw. you should update http://www.winamp.com/player/version-history It still shows 5.572 as the newest... Thanks for the new release and keep it up! ![]() kzuse |

Here is something else that I didn't notice in previous versions. And it could be me because I have made many system changes recently. But when I am listening to an MP3 I will sometimes rip a CD. Before I didn't have any problems. Now, the MP3 skips and gets crackly. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

Cool work devs... I like the new version! Thanks :-)
Btw, just a small issue... I don't know if this is the same as 'not seeing buttons in taskbar preview', but I do see 'blank' buttons. Its not related to opening an MP3 file or launching Winamp as I usually launch Winamp and just start playing my long playlist wherever it stopped. Strangely, initially I saw blank buttons, then saw the proper buttons for sometime, now again they are blank. Hovering doesn't change anything. See the attached image. You have only One Life... Is it possible for a developer to alter this slightly to *front*.jpg *cover*.jpg *folder*.jpg This way files like for example "Metallica - The Apocalypse-front.jpg" would load automatically.. and anyone having files called just "front.jpg" would also load. This would seem to make alot of sense. ![]() |

@ Alpha2k6, I guess that would mean iteration in the entire folder (for each) and not directly targeting a file. That would significantly slow down the process. I suppose thats the reason why its not made that way. Besides other major media players also don't support it I guess.

Nice job with the latest version. In Windows 7 I noticed a great improvement playing MP4s through Direct Show with FFDShow codecs. Also when shutting down or logging off the player no longer hangs. Wonderful.
![]() With WebM videos I'm using the VP8 codec through Direct Show. I tried your native plugin and it's ok except the time seek goes back 30 seconds or better instead of the usual 5 seconds and it doesn't work going forward at all, at least with the several videos I've got. Still it's nice to have that option in the player if ever needed. |

Perhaps the parallellism of the GPU could be used to do it ? ![]() like if Winamp finds video card x in system.. use GP-GPU.. doable idea ?? Actually I wouldn't mind if it slowed down slightly.. if it meant it found every file without having to change the names or target the files manually. That said Im not using any massive playlists. like 1500 songs for the largest one. |

Winamp doesn't read album art for all files in playlist... it just reads album art for the selected file (which is good and may be different from other media players). I don't have any experience with Winamp plugin development but I have programming knowledge in some languages. These are very easy tasks for one who knows how to develop & integrate plugins in Winamp. You have only One Life... What is greyed-out exactly? For me, I can click the 'Configure' button in Prefs -> DSP the SPS dialog appears, I load a preset, then drag the available sliders to taste. Admittedly, the sliders look like they're greyed-out, but they do actually work. |

Internal report on build 2950 03/06/2010
and http://forums.winamp.com/showpost.ph...97&postcount=8 See attached. Looks like the entry will not accept selection, e.g. if selected and then closed out, next time in, 'none' is still selected. UJ |

I have something similar to evolution76 issue. In my case configuration window is just rolled up into top title bar and shows up in left down corner. Thats really weird... Just for info, DSP plugins work normally for me on Win7 Ultimate 64bit.
[Edit] I also confirm. No problems with DSP on win7 x64 pro. -Pawel You have only One Life... So before You are History, make sure you get into History books. - TheUniqueTiger My personal website, HiFiBB ... Simply Hifi!, HiFiBB |

it would seem like something that would be easy to split up. A normal user CPU could do what 4 threads max ? perhaps 8 with hyperthreading. While a GPU could perhaps do 200-500 threads. If you get the picture. ![]() Now I don't know if this is something that is so slow that it needs more than 4 threads. To look up f.ex. *front*.jpg *front*.gif *front*.png *cover*.jpg *cover*.gif *cover*.png *folder*.jpg *folder*.gif *folder*.png in the folder for each file in a playlist.. |

Such pattern matching for filenames is possible even with CPU but those without GPU like me would suffer quite a long delay... Just for your info... targeting a single file is one 'if' condition but targeting a pattern match over all files in a folder makes it at least that many matches (usually more than that). So if there are 50 files in a folder the number of conditions will be in multiples of 50 (at least 50*1=50). Creating multiple threads still doesn't reduce the load on CPU, considering album art is found when a track starts playing (which is bigger load) where most people have dual core. I registered out of the sole reason to applaud you for introducing "Improved: [ml_local/in_mp3] Write ratings to POPM frame in id3v2 tags" option (checked, working). I waited for years for this addition to Winamp and it even made me struggle with some other options (like MediaMonkey). Now you've made the feature-complete player and there's no turning back

@ evolution76 AND Robster400
Make sure you have the latest version of the One for Nunz plug-in or you could uninstall it. As mentioned by DrO (from the link) ver. 4.3.1 fixes an issue with the DSP options page. |

You are welcome Robster400 and UJ. Having the same issue, I traced it down to the OFN plug-in. After checking the good doctor's web page I was happy to discover there was a fix.
Rather ironic that a diagnostic plug-in was causing a bug. ![]() @evolution76 If you happen to be reading this, is the issue resolved for you now? |

I've been meaning to write the devs of Winamp about the Swedish translations for a while now.
I could help you translate Winamp into Swedish, it's clear that you've used babelfish or google translate to make it into Swedish directly from English. The translations are in fact so horribly bad, that I cannot understand what most of the features do, and I immediately switch to the default English pack. =) [Edit --> DJ Egg] PM sent. |

I have an issue that I have never seen before and I don't know how to explain, so please work with me.
I have over 700 playlists. So I choose to right click on the playlist node in the left pane, choose import playlist from folder. And after my playlists are loaded I will choose sort playlists alphabetically. When you expand the node, all of the playlists drop down as they should. However, here is the problem. When you try to scroll up and down the list on the left hand side. It doesn't scroll smoothly. The only way I can explain it is that normally when you left click the slider, hold the mouse down and scroll up and down the scroll bar will follow the mouse and work very quickly. But it does not seem to do this in the left pane. In the right pane, everything works great. I have included a zip file with playlists. So hopefully you can recreate this. Thanks |

Nice, but a preview image would be useful. I tried one of the od the packs (yellow) and noticed, that 256x256 icons weren't working. The rest was working fine. Hi Viper,
I don't see any bug with it. It works ok here... Very nice job. Especially "black&white" pack. Nice, that someone decided to create some other icon packs. I hope my work was good start for it. The problem with win7 toolbar controls (play, stop, previous and next) is not fixed. It works for me only, when starting Winamp from usual shortcuts.
Loading Winamp by running an MP3 file won't display them... using Winamp 5.581, clean install |
