play Podcast then revert to Playlist

We have a playlist that plays 24/7 unless there is a DJ logged in but we want to play a podcast in a specific slot every week.

Is it possible to have a playlist (podcast) to play at a specific time/day and then revert back to the original (24/7) playlist.

I think i've over-read things tonight and just confused myself with it.

Edit: the podcast is uploaded to a seperate folder i.e /shoutcast/podcast the 24/7 music is located in /shoutcast/music (just for clarity)

What setup are you streaming with now?

There are a lot of options to do this.. I use SAM Broadcaster...it's a paid program that handles all types of events from normal playlists to swapping them, running certain things at certain times and even pulling live shows from remote servers. There are lots of other software packages like that out there - some cost and some are free. The Radionomy/Shoutcast hosting can also handle this via timed programming setup and many Shoutcast hosts have something similar to offer..basically programming software.

We're currently running Shoutcast v2.5.1.724 with sc_trans to handle the DJ/playlist.

Currently, everthing is set up so DJ's can log in whenever they wish, but on a Saturday at 5pm we have a networked show which we broadcast, and then on a sunday we have a podcast that we stream.
Ideally we'd like the server to handle the playlist/podcast switch .
Is that possible?
