Have you listened to the Gob version?
[opinion=Nimelennar]The Gob version is so much better than either the Stones version or the Tea Party version.[/opinion]

The world is made of conflicts: good and evil, order and chaos, light and dark, hot and cold. All are essential to life. None can prevail for any length of time, or life will fail. In the end, the best any can hope for is balance.

I myself like the SFL version of it also (House). Though the original is still a great listen.

Whoever they are, I'm sure it doesn't even compare to hearing The Tea Party live. I've heard them play that song live twice now, it's absolutely amazing . Sandwiched right in between the first and second halfs of Sister Awake.

As for Gob: Who are they? Some "punk" band guessing by the name...

Otis Redding's version of "Satifation" is very satisfying. For some reason, I also love The Bangles "Hazy Shade Of Winter." Some other goodies:

Van Halen's "Pretty Woman"
The Beatles' "Please Mr. Postman"
Pearl Jam's "Last Kiss"
Mariah Carey's "Without You"
Just about anything by Joe Cocker

Did you know that Mike Campbell, who wrote the music to "Boys Of Summer," really likes the Atari's version? Check it out:

There's an AWFUL cover of Comfortably Numb in the charts at the moment. I'm no particular fan of the original, but this version is just plain shit.

Not sure if this counts as a cover version as the song is so much a standard, I suppose the original would be by Leadbelly.

Anyway, just listened to 'Kelly Joe Phelps - Goodnight Irene', holds on to the sense of longing in the words, instead of the bouncy little tune it's been turned into. Good guitar too.
