StrokeIt: Opera-like mouse gestures for everything! -> Translators Wanted <-

As some of you may, or may not be aware of, I'm involved with the above-mentioned application. It allows you to use mouse-gestures in every application you run, to do virtually anything with that application. You can check it out at http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit

Here's my request:

I've been hard at work on the new StrokeIt installer, and the time has come for translations! So, those of you that can help out, I would greatly appreciate it. Grab the file at http://www.redrubberball.net/stroke...ler_english.zip and give it a go. Finished translations can be sent to me by any of the contact information listed below, and I'll make sure that they're included in the next release.

Currently, all languages aside from English are needed.

Thanks a lot.

-Scott

Great software, I've been using it for a month or so, and I now find myself constantly trying to use a "browse back" gesture on other people's computers and am frustrated when I realize they don't have strokeit. It's just so natural to do that I expect it to just be there.

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

By installing or using StrokeIt, you agree to be bound by the terms of the license agreement.

StrokeIt is free for individual and not-for-profit charitable entity use (excluding governmental entities and educational institutions). For-profit business entities, governmental entities, or educational institutions, your license will be free for an introductory ten (10) day period but you must purchase a valid end-user license after 10 days in order to continue using the software.

Of course, donations are always appreciated.
Not everyone has used B&W, btw. I'm one of them. Mouse gesturing goes back a long way, even to the Xerox PARC labs that Apple founders toured prior to creating the Mac GUI in the 70s.

O.k. I did a lot of last minute updating. So, this should be it.

Just go to http://www.redrubberball.net/strokeit/English.nsh and that's the file that the strings need to be translated in. It's WAY cut down.

Thanks a lot guys.

O.k., another small update. Make sure that you're using Source-File version 1.2 of the file.

darn... i may have been able to do a very poor german version, but i see it's already been filled in. i would do an armenian translation for you, but then again i don't know the language, i just dream too hard.

i could probably do some absolutely pointless translations, like pig latin or l33t, but i bet you don't need those. if the occasion rises, i may just be able to do a british english translation, but i could replace the z's with s's, or's with our's, and... you get the point.

i also may be available for an esperanto translation, but someone else can probably do better than me.

e: i am an opera user myself, and the mouse gestures are a great boon to me, but sometimes when the mouse slips, opera may "think" that's some gesture i don't use. i just would like to know if your proggy can disable specific mouse gestures in opera. thanks.

Thanks for all your thoughts on helping. I appreciate it. Your question though, would be better fielded at http:/www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/forum

Well, without it, you would be using a better browser, and now you can use that better browser with mouse gestures. :-D

May I suggest K-Meleon? http://kmeleon.sf.net

I saw this on PCWorld not to long ago. Man -o-man it brings back some Earth Final Conflict images. But imagine using this for gaming. I mean it's a lot more reasonable than that thing Sega Genesis had a while ago where you had to stand up and preform the actions.

First off, I'd like to thank everybody for all of your support.

Secondly, after discussing the situation heavily with other staff members, we've concluded that we'll not be offering internationalization in the installer for StrokeIt. We will, however, continue to leave internationalization support in StrokeIt itself, so you can continue to use the application in your favorite language.

Again, thank you for all of your support.
