Damn my parents, for having picked my name out of a phone book! But I like it. The only other people I've seen who have it were Finns (Arin Kotisivu(sp?), froma p[ersonal homepage), and that's why I asked. I've never actually met anyone with that name, so I guess my pronounciation of it is totally unique.

Hehe, ok, I'll try to be as clear as I can. "Arin Kotisivu" is simply Finnish for "Ari's Homepage". The "n" at the end of the name is the way the names are declined in Finnish.

Hmm, not sure about that word "declined"... I looked it up from the dictionary!

I'm 100% American (Dunstable, Massachusetts) but I've been living in Pusan, South Korea for almost 5 years now. There is a shockingly high number of Canadians here (not that there's anything wrong with that).
There are only 3 Burger Kings in this city of 5 million and NO Tacobells (Mmmmm tacos) in the entire country (population: 44 million). Good thing the local food is so good.

I'm from...

Clue:

I used to call my friends "comrades"...
(Well, not really)

Another clue:

We could have kicked your American asses had we...(fill missing words)

BTW I used to know quite a lot of German, but since I haven't met a single German for five years, I forgot most of it, so:

Guten Tag, Deautchland (I'm not sure how that's spelt...)!

Afraid not :-) you should check out Romania sometime - almost every town has it's own brewery, and at around 50 cents a pint, you can't go wrong ;-) Here's to getting wasted for $5 :-)

True, stereotypes are fun. But I get so annoyed if the first thing people ask if they hear where you come from is always either where it is (oh it's not the capital of Amsterdam? (of course those are the truly uneducated people)) or start babbling about drugs, prostitutes and gays.
Ampburner - Should we go ahead and confirm the American stereotype as well? Or would that be too mean?
