Lyrics Plugin suddenly stop working for anyone else?

The tried-and-true lyrics plugin (gen_lyricsplugin.dll) doesn't seem to work lately as the display window has been blank now for a few days now. Usually a simply repair or re-install gets it running again, but so far that's no longer working (including a complete uninstall) so now I wonder if there is a different problem (like the server went down, or it's no longer accepting automatic queries from the plugin anymore). Any ideas?

Is it time to consider an alternative lyrics plugin? Which ones are the forum favorites?

Maybe it can't find lyrics for the particular songs you play.
The one I've attached still works for many (not all) of the songs on my playlist.

Thanks for sharing the plugin you use. It appears to be the same one I have too.

That's a good point (about certain obscure songs not having lyrics online) but I have tried old popular songs that I know worked before. And I just installed a different lyrics plugin and those are fetching just fine (but from a different source/server). Now I wonder if my VPN is causing an issue (even though it hasn't been a problem for the past year).

Scratch that theory, the lyrics plugin still doesn't work when VPN is disabled.

Try doing system restore to a point before it stopped working.

Recently my playout system started to have issues after a windows update
took the system back to a restore point before the update and everything worked fine again.

windows updates might crash other software.

I started experiencing the same issue recently. I tracked its cause down to the program Malwarebytes. It seems like whenever I have "Web Protection" enabled, the lyrics plugin won't load.

I do recall a few years ago with the release of Malwarebytes v3 needing to add some sort of exception for Winamp. Not sure why all of a sudden it no longer works correctly. Whether it has something to do with the daily definition files, or something else, I don't know.

Just start listening to your favorite songs and lyrics will be displayed. Best Lyrics plugin - However, it has recently stopped working shareit.
