Winamp Midi bug
Ok, I have: Winamp 2.78 from a full install
Dell Inspiron 8000/800mHz PIII WinME, 128Mb ram SurfSmurf's oldsk00l mod plugin some in_umx plugin Peter's TFMX plugin and SPC plugin Au/snd plugin LeOnArD's ST-sound plugin SidAmp 1.4 Beta Official Vqf plugin Peter's latest in_ogg Other assorted sh*t... My problem: I don't know when this started because I haven't played .mid's for a while, but now Winamp crashes when I try to advance to the next file, and often simply when I try to close Winamp while a midi is playing. The files don't crash Windows Media Player. HELP! ![]() BTW, I have an .xm that crashes in_mod.dll. I'll upload a down-sized version that shows the bug shortly... Never mind, I can't zip it down to less than 102kb. The file is Over2.xm by Probe of TBL. I got this file from the 'MODs covered on HVSC' page. (Don't ask me where, I don't remember off the top of my head.) ![]() Edited 16:38 EST on 20011219 by TurboDIESEL Last edited by TURBOdiesel; 19th December 2001 at 21:39. |

I have the same problem.....
Well, this isn't a total solution or anything, but I can tell you I have the same problem. Every time I try to play a file in WinAmp, a box will pop up telling me that it has performed an illegal operation. By clicking the Details button on that box, I found out that it was in_midi.dll that had crashed it. I simply moved the file out of my plugins folder. I'll keep it out of there until I get a fixed file. So, I can't play midi files in WinAmp for now
![]() PLEASE FIX IT, WINAMP!!! ![]() P.S. My computer isn't as good as yours, but I don't think that's the problem. And the midi problem only started for me in the new WinAmp 2.78 version. |

Thank you, PP. It worked. I feel like an @$$ for not trying to change devices. It was my ESS Maestro Directsound plugin that malfunctioned. I am downloading your new in_midi now.
Can I post a module-related problem here too? I have a module reputedly (C) 1987 Karsten Sorensen, creator of Ultimate Soundtracker, and the file plays a few notes off key in winamp's built-in player but not SurfSmurf's oldsk00l mod plugin. There, it sounds cool. Just thought PP could hack in_mod to work this Ultimate Soundtracker file better. ![]() Quote:

what's exactly wrong with it ? does modplug play it correctly ? oldsk00l plugin isn't going to work on my main dev system (the dll refuses to load at all under win2k)
