Read filenames aloud before playing
In the old days, when I would listen to public radio, announcers would tell me what I was listening to. I would learn to associate songs with names, particular classical pieces. Now all my music is digital and I'm playing directory after directory and I'm losing my knowledge of who the artists/composers are.
Is there a way to have WinAmp speak the filename before it played it? or some other custom string of information from inside the file? Thanks. |

as above has been posted already
but if you tag your music Winamp shows the artist and the song. what you want is a function of an Ipod , tripple press the button on your earpiece and the Ipod tells you which song and artist it is. |

How that info looks like is set in various options available at Options > Preferences > Skins > Modern Skins > Font Rendering > Font Rendering > Font Mapper while what tags are read and then shown is set at Options > Preferences > Playlist > Titles > Advanced Title Formatting And you can get creative with this, adding visual aids and even info about what folder a files comes from. Unfortunately there are some nasty limitations concerning some file formats / tag field Quote:
I would use when I am in a different state of mind thus have problems with knowing what I am listening too and sometimes even what exactly is happening, that occurs when a non characteristic instrumental music is being played. That would avert all that sometimes appearing confusion when I perform my experiments with synesthesia So, maybe some other media player has such function? I need something like it for my, uhm, science |
