One Monday, June 26, 2000 5:59:50 PM, exactly a year ago, "winamp264.exe" was created and download had begun. This was my first version of Winamp. At first I was overwhelmed with all the things I could do wih it. It was too much for one day. Now 11 versions, 29 skins, and a hell of a lot of plugins later and here my Winamp stands, contantly playing my music.

How long have yall other people had Winamp?

Gigabyte is temporarily away.

since i got my first Sublime MP2 (not mp3) close to 3 years ago.

Checking in Winamp Heaven, my first version was 1.20 (I remember that much) and that came out 7-31-97.

wow, almost four years.

hmm, can't remember.
I downloaded Winamp about 2 years ago to see what the hell it was, back then I had about 3 mp3s which I'd ripped from singles . I couldn't get the skins working so I stopped using it, then I foudn napster and well....

I remember Winamp.com was still in oldsk00l when i first has Winamp.

I don't remember, but considering I joined the party in early '99, my first WA must have been around 2.10

My first version of Winamp? Hmmm...

I think my first version was either v1.82 or v1.9, I can't remember anymore.

I remember the Nitrane decoder being released and Winamp being able to read skins from ZIP files coming about after I had had Winamp for a while, so I'm gonna say I started using it somewhere between May 1st and today in 1998.

The oldest version I have of winamp in my archives is 1.92, so I s'pose that's where it dates back to... I won't install it again though, and I'll delete it actually... No offense!

Actually before winamp became freeware, I was mainly using [gasp]

Sonique!

I liked sonique, mainly cos of the gfx plugins, and the novelty of dynamic skins, or whatever you call it, but eventually the crappy playlist and the endless crashes brought me back to winamp. Winamp makes the heart grow fonder, as they say.

Err... absence...

I've been using Winamp since March of 1999, I believe the version was 2.10, I registered it when 2.20 came out.

First off, you have to subtract 3 weeks-3 months from everyone's reply sice most tend to embelish their appetites for Winamp.

Truth be told, I've used it for 13 months now.

Hmm... I've been using Winamp since version 2.60 if I remember correctly. That's just a little more than a year for me.

same here, but replace p1 100 with a 486sx-33. Oh man, I could only play them at a low bitrate, and a shitload of other settings to play an mp3 without it skipping or any other stuff. Here I am now with my k7 750. Works so well just like back then.

exactly, when i got my p533 with 128mb of ram, it's always running

back then, if i had notepad out while playing songs it would either A) skip if i had set it to the lowest Ram useage (in pref->ops) or B) there would be a 2 second lag between hitting a key and seeing a letter pop-up
