Internet radio asking for password

First of all, I'm not sure if this is a Winamp bug, but I hope you can help me anyway.

I listen a lot to a Dutch internet radio station called DeepFM. They have a mp3 stream with tag support, so I use winamp to listen to it. But since a few days I keep getting a password window (see attachment). I don't think I changed any to Winamp related to this.

The weird thing is: the stream plays fine in iTunes and WMP 11; only Winamp shows this window. When I press Cancel it justs skips to the next song. Leaving the password window empty doesnt work.

I tried contacting DeepFM, but they just don't respond...

My specs:
Windows XP Prof up to date
Winamp 5.5 (Modern Skin)

The stream URL is: publisher.deep.fm/deepfm-128.mp3

Not a bug, just that specific stream requires a password to listen.

If you look on the main radio website they have a WMA stream to listen to:

@Sawg
Didn't I just say the stream works fine WITHOUT any password in iTunes and WMP...?

@J_Darnley
Yes, I know, but the WM stream doesn't support tags, and that is one of the reasons I use Winamp.

It is still the stream server its self asking for the password, and not Winamp.

Hmmmm...

Maybe try this...
Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage my network passwords > Stored User Names and Passwords
If anything at all is listed there referencing the IceCast server, REMOVE it. You may not be prompted for a password afterwards.
Worth a shot anyway.

There are no stored user names and passwords listed there. The list is empty.

Like I said, it may not work but worth a shot anyway.
But I hadn't checked the address before and I just did...
publisher.deep.fm/deepfm-128.mp3

The radio station DOES in fact ask for a password for streaming MP3's.
This is something you need to bring up with them.

I didn't even know that window existed But the problem still isn't solved.

I can add that it asks for this password on both my PC's here.

@Nunzio390:
Yes Nunzio, but try to play the exact same stream in Windows Media Player or iTunes: there it works fine. So that rased the question if this is a Winamp problem or not...

Markus B.
I am a DEEP FM listener as well (@ least once daily while at work). It worked on Friday (Pacific Time), today I got prompted for the password as well. Sure, this bug needs to be addressed (would seem to be a server issue but cannot tell). As suggested earlier, the WMA stream does work in Winamp (that's what I'm listening to right now).

The stream you're trying to access is a MAC stream as listed on the website Windows users should use Windows Media Player. Thats where Windows Media Player is for

Dude, that does not make sense. A mp3 stream is a mp3 stream. I just prefer mp3 to windows media because mp3/shoutcast supports tags so I know what songs i'm listening to.

Back to topic. I just found out the server is ACTIVELY blocking Winamp! Try using Firefox with the User Agent Switcher extension. When loading the stream url publisher.deep.fm/deepfm-128.mp3 in Firefox it works fine. If you change your user agent to "Winamp" (just that, without the quotes) it asks for a login!

Is there a way to change Winamp's user agent?

btw. WizardX.. are you the same guy as on the Deep.FM forum?
