Combobox redraw

I created a custom dialog which includes a combobox, however when the dialog appears the combobox does not show content until I roll the mouse over or tab to that control.

I don't mean move mouse to control and click, i just roll the mouse pointer over the control, then the control is refreshed(redrawn) and content becomes visible.

I also tried flipping XPStyle on/off, this did not help either.

The functionality of the combo box is working fine, its just a display problem.

I have also experimented with various background changes and colors on both the dialog and control, but still same problem

my preferred setting "SetCtlColors $Dialog 0xFFFFFF transparent"
