Custom links in Winamp Remote

Sorry to dig up old dirt but I used to be able to use Winamp Remote (or plain old Orb before AOL crashed the party) to transcode Internet video/audio streams to 3gp and access them through my cell phone. Setting up the links was a bit difficult but doable and done through a "custom" link on the toolbar. Of course everything is different now and all the Winamp Remote web interface seems to be able to handle now are files stored on a computer that can be "dragged and dropped" into the Winamp Remote playlist. Is there any way currently available to set up custom links for Internet streams or has that feature been abandoned?

Winamp Remote was a specific version Orb provided for Winamp but is no longer supported by Winamp or Orb (hence no sub-forum for it anymore). you might get a better response from Orb directly with whatever their current version(s) might do but i'm not sure (and i'm not explicitly recommending them in any way, just might be something to look into if you used them previously).

Thanks. I had the impression that Winamp or AOL acquired Orb and that Orb was no longer in operation. I'll check into it.

@DrO I was not aware the project doesn't belong to anyone. I had some questions about the internet and live tv folders I see on my PS3. Is there another program out there that acts like WinampRemote that caused them to bury the project because they did it better?

as no one was actively supporting it (especially Orb who provided / created it in the first place), i think it's just come to the natural end of any agreements / needs for such a thing. you can probably still get / use it but bugs are going to remain in it now. maybe Orb have something newer / similar which is supported but i really don't know (never got on with the thing when i briefly tried to use it way back).
