Color Editor how to launch?
Forget this. I was testing Color Editor with VMware running the 2001 edition of Windows XP without msvcp71.dll.

Few notes regarding Color Editor use. It has a couple of annoying bugs no one solved.. but most are sort-of easy to work around:
1- Color theme cloning ONLY WORKS when you clone default or original themes (the ones that came with the skin already), and even then for it to work (and be saved) you need to use a new name with only one digit (can be "1", "2", "a", etc). 2- So, best way to clone a theme is going to the data folder (X:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Winamp\Plugins\Freeform\wacs\coloreditor\data), open the skin's xml (you'll see one per each skin with saved color themes) and copy/paste the chunk of code from the color theme you want to duplicate (it begins with "<gammaset id="{coloredit}color theme name">" and ends with "</gammaset>"). Oh and remember to change the name here -it's safer-. 3- Note that "{coloredit}" is the piece of code that tells the app to make it editable. Don't remove it. 4- After saving the xml you'll need to refresh Winamp (F5). 5- See this post from PJN for an extra touch to the CE design with some controls moved around and an extra (very useful) "Folder" button, a shortcut to the CE's folder where the data is >> http://forums.winamp.com/showpost.ph...0&postcount=59 Official (and old) thread is here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=161484. PS: There may be more tips, but these are what I remember now, I'm always about to do a sort-of-official thread with all these notes + some gfx to make users less afraid of trying it, but it's forever delayed of course heh.. |
