Crossfader 'Not Supported' Message

I've recently set up winamp on my laptop for the first time, but whenever I try to turn winamp for I get this error message:

'Not supported'
Crossfader is only supported by DirectSound Output.
Would you like to change your Output plug-in now?

How can I stop this message appearing?

I've tried changing the output plug-ins from one thing to another, it doesn't make any difference, the message still appears on startup.

Hi kogia,

You had selected or enabled Winamp's crossfading feature when the default output plug-in (DirectSound) was enabled and then changed to another output plug-in. DirectSound is the only official plug-in that supports Winamp's crossfading feature.

So you need to turn the feature off. Look on the equalizer for the crossfading controls. The location and look of these controls depends on the UI skin you are using. If you can't find them, post back with the skin you are using.

What skin are you using, it is a modern skin? Some poorly coded modern skins can falsely generate the "Crossfader is only supported by..." error.

Please do not PM me for tech support. Any request for tech support through PM will be ignored.
