Configuring an input in Shoutcast Source

Hi Folks,

I am running the following software:
OS Windows XP SP3
Winamp 5.601
NullSoft ShoutCast Source DSP v2.2.3

My objective is to take the stream from the local audio card and make that the input for the NullSoft ShoutCast Source. The input device is configured as winamp (Recommended)

I have created a playlist file ( see below ) that is run when Winamp starts.
The player displays the message [Resolving hostname] in response to the name "input 2 "
in the playlist file.

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,input 2 (44100Hz 16bps Stereo, buffers: 10x4608 bytes)
line://title=input 2,srate=44100,bps=16,nch=2,dev=1

Also I am not seeing any input levels when I look at NullSoft Shoutcast Source input tab.

My questions are:

1. How do I associate / configure the local audio stream so it will appear as the input source.

2. Where do I define "Input 2" so the name in the playlist will resolve.

Winamp's default LineIn plugin doesn't allow you to customize the title I don't think. DrO might prove me wrong later. It's also accessed as linein:// not line://

If you want to customize the title there are two very different options:
  1. Use the non-experimental LineIn plugin downloadable here. Or...
  2. Use my very experimental LiveIn plugin downloadable here.

you're correct, the native plug-in is very limited which is why jaspr made his one all those years back (remember using that to play my old walkman on the pc in Winamp - fun days). probably it would have been good to have a better native line-in plug-in or even bundling of jasper's (doubt that is possible).
